Certification of Manufacturers

IntelliTurf makes every attempt to provide the best possible synthetic turf products available.  Our prescribed manufacturing system was created to ensure the highest standards in the industry.  We have built a system that is second to none and has been through years of testing and delivery of products so that our customers receive an installation that has no equal.

When considering Turf Manufacturers for Certification, we investigate not only the company history but also that of the principals.  The service standards for these companies must be exemplary.  Start-up companies and fly by night operations are never considered.  Excellent service throughout the ordering and installation process must be provided at all times.  Systems must be in place for problem solving and customer service must be accessible during all business hours.

As you will find throughout our business system, we require all partners, suppliers, and affiliates to be proactive in building our business.  Lead generation activities must be established before we will certify any manufacturer.  Marketing programs that promote the products and industry must be explained and developed before we will certify any manufacturer.  This step is just one of many that separate our company and philosophy from our competitors.

Yarn

Our process starts with the yarn we allow to be woven into the turf.  Whether the project calls for golf surfaces, lawns, or play areas we only use first quality yarn specific for each turf that has the properties, quality, and color we desire.  Each order of yarn must be tested for quality and performance before any carpet can be tufted.  All UV stabilizers and additives must meet the minimum standards that allow for the warranty period agreed upon for each product. (Please see manufacturers warranty for lengths of warranties)  No value yarns or specials on seconds are allowed in our products.  Only first quality goods that have been tested and approved are allowed to be used for IntelliTurf products.  Because of these rigorous requirements, we pay a premium for all of our yarn and finished goods.  This premium is reflected in our pricing.  Also, all new production items are subject to independent lab testing.

The Yarns for our products are the best available anywhere in the world and this is the first step towards providing our customers the highest quality solutions for their synthetic turf needs.

Quality Control

The second phase and where our end products truly separate us from competition are our manufacturing process requirements.  By dictating to the manufacturer exactly the products we want to create, we can require them to produce our formulas that we know from years of experience result in the best installations and perform to the high standards IntelliTurf  and our clients expect.  These formulas and specifications on products help us control exactly what our Franchisees and our customers want in their installations.

At every stage of the process we have independent inspectors supervising the creation of our turf.  When tufting and coating occurs many manufacturers simply have the tech that is running the machines inspect the product and process.  While the tech needs to operate the machines properly, it is our opinion and requirement to become a certified manufacturer to also have inspectors that are present simply to oversee the process and not be distracted with the actual operation of the machines.  This requirement allows us to eliminate and remove immediately any turf that does not meet the requirements for that particular synthetic turf run.  We eliminate any goods that would be referred to as seconds immediately.

To achieve the certification of manufacturer for IntelliTurf, each company must have a Quality Control Manager that trains and oversees the entire Quality Control Department and is separate from the various
manufacturing departments.  These managers must all have years of experience in the carpet industry and be an expert with not only every machine involved in the process, but every yarn and turf product we are working with and creating.

Final Inspection and Shipping

The final stage of our Certification Process requires the manufacturer to build and operate a final inspection and cutting machine that is specifically designed for inspecting, measuring and cutting synthetic turf products.  This machine must allow the operator and inspector to see a minimum 5 feet length and full width of the turf at all times.  This requirement is the last and final step to ensuring the manufacturing process was completed properly.  This roll cut machine must also utilize above average strength cores so the turf is stable during shipping in an attempt to eliminate any creasing of the product.  The final requirement in the process is to have trained and experienced operators that understand the importance of a tight and strong roll and are capable of delivering finished goods to the shipping dock without any creases or slack.  This is required for each piece of turf ordered and inspected before every shipment.

The IntelliTurf Manufacture Certification was designed to eliminate all problems and deliver the best product possible.   When your turf leaves the shipping dock, we have put in place a system that makes every attempt to eliminate problems during the manufacturing process.  The last place problems occur is in delivering the actual delivery of turf.  By using trained and experienced shipping companies to deliver the carpet to your business or job site we have created a system that is second to none in the synthetic turf business.  Only shipping companies experienced in the Carpet industry are used to deliver your order.
